We will begin our journey experiencing the traditions of the people of peru in Cusco for then go for 5 days to perform a trekking by the old Salkantay until you get to the wonderful Citadel of Machu Picchu. We will pass by the spectacular Laguna Humantay and we will cross the step Salkantay reaching out to the 4650 masl that will be the maximum altitude of our route. From there, we start our descent towards the selva andina to finally reach the lost city and let us wrap all the energy and history that it contains.

Day 1: Arrival to Cusco

Throughout this first day, we will find all the travellers at the hostel of the city of Cusco. It will be important to take this first day with calm to go acclimatising to the altitude of cusco; we can go out to get to know the surroundings and take a nice coca tea to prepare our body to the height. 

Day 2: Walk Cusco - encounter with the traditions

After breakfast, we will have time to walk the beautiful streets of Cusco. We recommend you to walk through the most emblematic places of the area attending to the details that make this city a unique destination.

Day 3: the letter

Throughout the day we will be able to enjoy and visit the city of Cusco as we like. We will have free time to walk through its streets and visit its most emblematic places, we can also enjoy their craft markets and peruvian cuisine from where we can see and connect with the traditions latent in the andean village.

Day 4: Starting the adventure

To begin our adventure of 5 days, we rise up in the hostel in Cusco at about 04 am. From there we will head to the town of Mollepata where we will have a hearty breakfast to start our trek of 13 km, and After traveling for about six hours approximately and enjoy the spectacular Laguna Humantay, we arrive at Soraypampa, located at 3850 meters above sea level. There we will arrive to our camp and enjoy an unforgettable night.

Day 5: The highest point

From very early on, we prepare to take our breakfast and then we will begin our trek ascent to the Pass Salkantay. In about four hours we reached the highest point of our route, that is to say, 4650 masl. Enjoy the view of the two peaks higher – Salkantay and Humantay – and then continue our trek towards the second camp in Chaullay to 2850 meters above sea level. Throughout the day we will travel about nine hours and about 22 km away, this being one of the most demanding of our journey to the Inca trail.

Day 6: From the mountain to the jungle

After breakfast, we will start with our day's hike. Throughout the day we will visit some 18 km approx appreciating coffee plantations, orchids, begonias, bromeliads and many natural plants used for natural medicine. Also, we will feel how the temperature is changing significantly, it means that you pass of the mountain to the jungle. The temperature will soften quite a bit, and the moisture will increase significantly. We arrive at The Beach and then we will go to rest to our third camp in Santa Teresa, and those who want to can go to take a bath with thermal water, in addition to enjoy a delicious dinner.

Day 7: Inca trail

After enjoying a spectacular sunrise we will travel in a vehicle to Lucmabamba, then began to walk about three hours by Inca Trail towards Llactapata. From there we can appreciate, with an amazing view, the Valley of Santa Teresa and we can go looking at the Machu Picchu mountain and Huayna Picchu mountain. This will be the first archaeological site that we will see on the lost city of the Incas, is a very important place where we can enjoy and have the time to learn more about the roots and history of this land. After we will continue descending for two hours until we get to the power station and continue our hike to Aguas Calientes.

Day 8: The lost city

The last day of our adventure starts at 04:30 am approximately, we start the trek in which we will ascend to the majestic Inca city of Machu Picchu. Once there you can go through the different sectors of the archaeological complex. Finally, we will return to Aguas Calientes and then wait for the train that will take us to Ollantaytambo and then continue our journey to our accommodation in Cusco.

Day 9: Return to the place of origin

Because a great trip is to (re)know each other on what they had learned. It is always important to return to the place of origin to share experiences, photos, and experiences that we have embodied throughout our stay.

During this day we will be firing up the charm in the altiplano, and we will undertake the return trip back to our countries of origin.
